You've built a coaching offer you're proud of. Your next client just happens to be in Germany, the UK, or Canada — and they want to pay in their local currency. Can you charge them without the headache of manual conversions, awkward workarounds, or losing money to bad exchange rates? Yes. Coachful's currency support lets coaches charge clients in EUR, GBP, USD, CAD, AUD, and dozens more currencies — all handled natively through Stripe Connect, so the money lands in your bank account without you touching a spreadsheet.
This guide covers everything: which currencies are supported, how to configure your billing currency, how clients experience checkout, and how payouts work across borders.
TL;DR
- Coachful billing runs on Stripe Connect, which supports 135+ currencies globally.
- You set your presentment currency at the offer level — the currency your client sees at checkout.
- Payouts go to your connected bank account in your settlement currency, which depends on your country and Stripe account settings.
- Currency is configured per offer (one-time, recurring, or payment plan) — not globally, so you can sell different offers in different currencies.
- Coupons and payment plans respect the currency set on the parent offer.
Which currencies does Coachful support?
Because Coachful's payment infrastructure is built on Stripe Connect, any currency Stripe supports as a presentment currency is available to you. That includes all major currencies coaches commonly need:
- USD — US Dollar
- EUR — Euro (27 EU member states + others)
- GBP — British Pound Sterling
- CAD — Canadian Dollar
- AUD — Australian Dollar
- NZD — New Zealand Dollar
- CHF — Swiss Franc
- SGD — Singapore Dollar
- HKD — Hong Kong Dollar
- SEK, NOK, DKK — Scandinavian currencies
- JPY, MXN, BRL, INR, ZAR — and many more across Asia, Latin America, and Africa
The full list of Stripe-supported presentment currencies is maintained at stripe.com/docs/currencies. If you don't see your currency listed there, it means Stripe hasn't yet enabled it for presentment — this is a Stripe-level constraint, not a Coachful one.
One practical note: zero-decimal currencies like JPY (Japanese Yen) or KRW (Korean Won) don't use cents. Coachful handles the formatting automatically, so if you enter ¥15,000 you'll never see it render as ¥15,000.00.
Understanding presentment currency vs. settlement currency
These two concepts trip up a lot of coaches, so let's make them clear before you configure anything.
Presentment currency
This is the currency your client sees on the checkout page and on their receipt. If you set an offer to EUR, your client pays €500 — no conversion, no asterisk, no "approximately". Their card is charged in euros.
Settlement currency
This is the currency you receive in your bank account. Your settlement currency is determined by your Stripe account's country and the bank account you connect. A UK-based coach with a GBP bank account will receive GBP regardless of whether the client paid in EUR or USD — Stripe handles the conversion automatically and shows you the exchange rate applied.
If you want to hold balances in multiple currencies and pay out in each, you can configure multi-currency payouts directly in your Stripe Dashboard. This is useful if you coach clients in both the US and the EU and want to avoid unnecessary conversion fees.
Pro tip: To minimize conversion losses, set your offer currency to match the currency of the majority of your clients. A UK-based coach with mostly European clients might create separate EUR and GBP offers rather than one USD offer that forces currency conversion for everyone.
How to set the currency on a Coachful offer
Currency is configured at the offer level inside your Coachful coach dashboard. Here's exactly how to do it:
- Sign in at app.coachful.co/sign-in and go to your coach dashboard.
- Navigate to Billing → Offers (or Products → Offers depending on your sidebar layout).
- Click Create offer or open an existing offer to edit it.
- In the Pricing section, locate the Currency dropdown. By default it will show your account's default currency (usually the one tied to your Stripe Connect country).
- Select your desired currency — e.g., EUR, GBP, or USD.
- Enter the price in that currency. For example, select EUR and type
497to charge €497. - If you're creating a recurring offer, the billing interval (monthly, quarterly, annually) and trial period fields will appear below — all tied to the same currency.
- For payment plans, set the installment amount in the same currency. A 3-installment plan at €166 each, for example, totals €498.
- Save the offer. The currency is now locked for this offer. Clients who purchase via this offer's checkout link or your website will always see the price in the currency you chose.
Need to sell the same program to USD clients and EUR clients? Create two separate offers — one priced in USD, one in EUR — and link them to the same program. Both offers can be shown on your sales page using Coachful's website builder, letting clients self-select the right one.

Coupons and discounts across currencies
Coupons in Coachful are applied at the offer level and respect the currency of that offer. There are two types:
- Percentage discounts — e.g., 20% off. These work identically regardless of currency because they're relative. A 20%-off coupon on a €500 offer deducts €100; on a $500 offer it deducts $100.
- Fixed-amount discounts — e.g., £50 off. These are currency-specific. A fixed coupon created against a GBP offer will only work at GBP checkouts. If you try to apply it to a USD offer, Stripe will reject the charge.
The practical takeaway: use percentage coupons when you run promotions across multiple currency offers. Create fixed-amount coupons only when you're targeting clients in one specific currency.
How multi-currency checkout looks for your clients
Your clients don't need to think about any of this. When they land on your checkout page — whether it's embedded on your Coachful website, linked from your link-in-bio page, or sent via a direct enrollment link — they see the price exactly as you set it. There's no "price shown in USD, billed in GBP" disclaimer. The currency symbol, amount, and Stripe's secure payment form all match the offer currency.
For recurring offers, clients' invoices and email receipts also reflect the offer currency. A client on a €150/month coaching retainer will see €150 on every invoice — not a converted USD amount that fluctuates month to month. This builds trust and reduces billing confusion, which matters for long-term client retention.
Clients can pay using any major credit or debit card regardless of which currency their card is denominated in. Stripe handles the card network's own currency conversion on their end — your client might see a small foreign transaction fee from their bank if their card currency differs from the offer currency, but that's between the client and their bank, not between you and Coachful.
Stripe Connect payouts: getting your money
Once a client pays, the funds flow into your Stripe Connect account balance. Stripe deducts its processing fee (typically 1.4% + €0.25 for European cards, 2.9% + $0.30 for US cards — see stripe.com/pricing for your region). The remainder is available for payout.
Payout timing depends on your Stripe account's payout schedule — usually 2–7 business days after a successful charge, though instant payouts are available in some regions for an additional fee. You can adjust your payout schedule directly in your Stripe Dashboard without leaving Coachful to handle it there.
If you collect revenue in multiple currencies (e.g., EUR and GBP), Stripe can hold separate balances and pay them out to the appropriate bank accounts. To enable this, add each currency's bank account in your Stripe Dashboard under Settings → Payouts. This avoids automatic conversion and the associated fees.
Tax considerations when charging in multiple currencies
Currency and tax are separate concerns, but they often come up together. A few pointers:
- If you charge EU clients in EUR, you may be subject to EU VAT rules depending on your business location and revenue thresholds. Consult a tax professional familiar with digital services VAT.
- Stripe Tax (available inside your Stripe Dashboard) can automate tax calculation and collection across jurisdictions. It integrates with your Coachful billing automatically once enabled in Stripe.
- Coachful displays the price you set — it does not add tax on top unless you've configured Stripe Tax to do so. Make sure your listed prices are clearly inclusive or exclusive of tax as required by your local regulations.

Pro tips for coaching businesses charging international clients
Create a geo-targeted offer strategy
Rather than listing one USD price globally, consider creating region-specific offer pages. For example, a "6-week leadership coaching intensive" could have a USD version embedded on your US-targeted landing page and a GBP version on a separate page for UK audiences. Coachful's website builder lets you create multiple landing pages and link-in-bio pages, so this is straightforward to set up without duplicating your entire website.
Use your program and squad structure to keep clients together
If you run a cohort program — say, a 12-week group coaching program that starts on the first Monday of each month — clients who paid in different currencies can still be enrolled in the same program and participate in the same cohort squad. The currency of their offer has no effect on their experience inside the program. They'll complete the same weekly tasks, join the same group video calls, and chat in the same squad — regardless of whether they paid in EUR, GBP, or USD.
Test your checkout before going live
Stripe provides a test mode with test card numbers that work with any currency. Before publishing a new EUR or GBP offer, switch to Stripe test mode in your dashboard and run a test purchase end-to-end to confirm the currency symbol, amount, and receipt all look correct.
Best practice: Name your offers clearly with the currency in the title if you're managing multiple-currency offers — e.g., "12-Week Executive Coaching (EUR)" vs. "(USD)". This makes it easy to distinguish them inside your Coachful dashboard and avoid accidentally sending the wrong checkout link to a client.
Troubleshooting common currency issues
The currency dropdown is greyed out on an existing offer
Once a client has purchased an offer, Stripe locks the currency to prevent mismatched charge records. To offer the same product in a different currency, duplicate the offer and set the new currency on the copy. Archive the old offer if you no longer need it.
A client's payment failed and they see a "currency not supported" error
This usually means your Stripe account isn't enabled for that presentment currency. Log in to your Stripe Dashboard and check Settings → Account details to confirm which presentment currencies are active. Some currencies require Stripe to manually enable them for your account — contact Stripe support if a currency you need isn't showing.
The price is showing in USD even though I set it to EUR
Double-check that you saved the offer after changing the currency. Also make sure the checkout link or embed you shared is pointing to the correct offer — if you have both a USD and EUR version, it's easy to share the wrong link.
My payout amount doesn't match what I expected after currency conversion
Stripe applies a conversion fee (typically 1–2%) when converting between currencies. The rate used is Stripe's daily rate, not the interbank rate. To see the exact conversion applied, navigate to the specific payout in your Stripe Dashboard — it will show the original charge amount, the conversion rate, and the converted payout amount line by line.
A coupon I created isn't applying at checkout
If you created a fixed-amount coupon in GBP and a client is trying to use it on a USD offer, Stripe will reject the discount. Create a new coupon in the matching currency, or switch to a percentage-based coupon that works across currencies.
Ready to charge clients anywhere in the world?
Multi-currency billing used to mean multiple payment processors, manual invoicing, or telling international clients to "just pay in USD and deal with the conversion". Coachful eliminates all of that. Set your offer currency once, share your checkout link, and Stripe handles the rest — from card processing to payouts in your local currency.
