You've set up your coaching workspace, built your first program, and connected your calendar. Now comes the moment that actually matters: getting your first clients through the door. Inviting clients to Coachful takes less than five minutes, but doing it right — with the right link, the right offer, and the right onboarding experience — is what turns a sign-up into a paying, engaged client.
This guide walks you through every method available to invite clients, from a single direct email invite to a public offer page that works while you sleep.
TL;DR — The Fastest Ways to Invite Clients
- Direct invite: Go to Clients → Invite client, enter their email, and they receive a signup link immediately.
- Offer link: Share a public offer URL from Offers → Copy link — clients self-enroll and pay in one step.
- Program enrollment: Enroll an existing client in a program from the Programs dashboard — they get an instant welcome notification.
- Website / landing page: Use Coachful's built-in website builder to publish a lead-capture or sales page clients can find organically.
Method 1 — Send a Direct Client Invite
The direct invite is the simplest path. It creates a Coachful account for your client, links them to your coaching workspace automatically, and skips any friction around them finding your page on their own.
- Sign in to your coach dashboard at app.coachful.co.
- In the left sidebar, click Clients.
- Click Invite client (top-right corner).
- Enter the client's email address. Optionally add their first and last name so the invite email feels personal.
- Choose whether to immediately assign them to a program or leave that for after they accept.
- Click Send invite.
Your client receives a branded email from your workspace (sent from your subdomain, e.g., yourname.coachful.co) with a one-click signup link. Once they click through and create a password, they appear under Clients → Active and can start messaging you immediately via the built-in chat.
Bulk invites
Launching a group cohort or moving an existing client list onto Coachful? You can invite multiple clients at once by entering comma-separated email addresses in the invite field. Each person gets an individual, personalized email — there's no "group blast" feel on their end.
Method 2 — Share a Public Offer Link
If you want clients to discover, purchase, and enroll themselves without any back-and-forth, an offer link is your best tool. Offers in Coachful combine your pricing (one-time payment, recurring subscription, or payment plan), program assignment, and intake call booking into a single checkout flow.
- Go to Offers in the left sidebar.
- Click Create offer (or select an existing one).
- Set the price, billing type (one-time, monthly, annual, or payment plan), and attach a program.
- Optionally require an intake call before access is granted — great for high-ticket coaching.
- Click Publish, then Copy link.
- Share that link anywhere: your Instagram bio, an email campaign, a DM, or your website.
When a new client clicks the offer link, they're guided through Stripe-powered checkout, create their Coachful account, and land directly inside your program — all in one seamless flow. You get paid straight to your connected Stripe account, with no manual invoicing needed.
Pro tip: Create a coupon code (under Offers → Coupons) for a limited-time discount and include it in your launch announcement. Scarcity and a clear deadline consistently improve conversion on coaching offers.
Method 3 — Enroll an Existing Client in a Program
Already have clients who paid you through another method, or clients you're migrating from a spreadsheet? You can add them to Coachful manually and enroll them in a program in one step.
- Go to Clients and click Invite client.
- Enter their email and name, then toggle on Assign to program.
- Select the program from the dropdown. You can pick a specific week to start them on if they're joining mid-program.
- Send the invite.
When the client accepts, they land directly inside the program — not on a generic dashboard. Their first experience is the structured curriculum you built, which dramatically reduces the "now what?" confusion that kills early engagement.
Once enrolled, a cohort squad is automatically created (or your client is added to an existing cohort) so they can connect with fellow participants. If you've set up a community squad, they'll be added to that too, giving them immediate access to your group chat space.
Coaches on Coachful report that clients who are enrolled in a program within the first 24 hours are significantly more likely to complete their first week of tasks — and complete clients renew. Don't invite first and enroll later if you can avoid it.
Method 4 — Use Your Coachful Website or Landing Page
A direct invite requires you to already know the client. But what about strangers who find you on Google, social media, or the Coachful marketplace? For inbound leads, your Coachful website does the heavy lifting.
Every Coachful coach gets access to a drag-and-drop website builder that lives on your custom subdomain (e.g., janesmith.coachful.co) or your own domain with automatic SSL. You can build:
- A full coaching website with an about page, services page, testimonials, and blog.
- A focused sales landing page for a single program or offer.
- A link-in-bio page for Instagram or TikTok traffic.
- A lead magnet page that captures email addresses in exchange for a free resource.
Each page can include a button that links directly to your offer checkout. When someone lands on your page and clicks "Work with me", they go straight into the enrollment flow — no third-party tools, no redirect maze.
Setting up a custom domain
Go to Settings → Custom domain, enter your domain (e.g., coaching.yourbrand.com), and follow the DNS instructions. SSL is provisioned automatically within minutes. Once active, all your pages, offer links, and client portal URLs run on your brand — not on a generic SaaS subdomain.
Method 5 — Invite via the Coachful Marketplace
If you're open to new clients finding you organically, make sure your profile is listed on the /find-a-coach directory. Coaches who complete their profile — niche, credentials, coaching style, published offers — appear in search results for clients actively looking for help.
To optimize your marketplace listing, go to Settings → Public profile and fill in every field: your coaching niche, a professional photo, a short bio (lead with the transformation you deliver, not your credentials), and at least one published offer with a clear price. Listings with a published offer convert at a much higher rate than "contact me" profiles.
What Happens After a Client Accepts Their Invite
Understanding the client's first-time experience helps you design a better onboarding flow. Here's what your client sees the moment they accept:
- They create a password and land on their personal client dashboard.
- If enrolled in a program, they see their current week, tasks, goals, and habits immediately.
- The Stream-powered chat is available in the sidebar — they can message you (or the group squad) right away.
- If you've enabled booking, they'll see a prompt to schedule their first 1:1 session.
- On mobile, they're nudged to install the Coachful app via the mobile gateway — available as a progressive web app and native iOS/Android.
The smoother this experience, the higher your client activation rate. A client who completes a task, sends a message, and books a call in their first session is an engaged client — and engaged clients stay.
Pro Tips for a High-Converting Client Invitation
Personalize the invite message
When you send a direct invite, include a short personal note in the body of the email referencing something specific about the client — the goal they mentioned in a discovery call, the challenge they're working through. Generic invites get ignored; personal ones get acted on within hours.
Time your invite strategically
Send invites Tuesday through Thursday, between 9 AM and 11 AM in your client's timezone. Open rates for onboarding emails drop significantly on Mondays and Fridays, and after-hours invites often get buried. Coachful's invite system sends immediately on dispatch, so time it manually.
Follow up once
If a client hasn't accepted within 48 hours, send a single follow-up — a brief, warm, personal message (not an automated blast). In the Coachful dashboard, you can see invite status under Clients → Pending invites, so you always know who still needs a nudge.
Use intake calls for high-ticket programs
For programs priced above $500, consider requiring an intake call before full access is granted. Set this up in your offer settings. It filters out poor-fit clients, creates a moment of connection before the program starts, and dramatically reduces early refund requests.
Troubleshooting Common Invite Problems
Client says they didn't receive the invite email
Ask them to check their spam or promotions folder first. If it's not there, go to Clients → Pending invites, find their record, and click Resend invite. If the issue persists, verify the email address was entered correctly — a single typo will silently fail.
Client can't complete signup — page shows an error
Invite links expire after 7 days for security reasons. If a client is clicking an old link, resend the invite from the Pending invites tab to generate a fresh link. Make sure to let them know the original link is no longer valid.
Client enrolled but can't see the program
Check that the program is set to Published (not Draft) under Programs → Settings. A draft program is invisible to clients even if they're enrolled. Also confirm that the program has at least one published week with at least one task — an empty program shows a blank screen.
Offer link goes to checkout but payment fails
Confirm that your Stripe Connect account is fully onboarded. Go to Settings → Billing → Stripe and check for any pending verification steps. Stripe requires identity verification before live payments can be processed. Test mode payments work without full verification; live mode does not.
Client is enrolled in the wrong program
Go to Clients → [Client name] → Enrollments and use the Move enrollment option to transfer them to the correct program. Their progress data from the old program is preserved separately and won't carry over.
Client appears in Pending but not Active after accepting
This occasionally happens if the client's account creation was interrupted (e.g., browser crash during password setup). Ask them to revisit the original invite link or use the Resend invite option. If they now have a partial account, they can complete signup by going directly to app.coachful.co/sign-in and using "Forgot password" to set their credentials.
